Since it was done in Bryce, I more or less understand how this was created.
1) I like the texture. The actual texture, I mean. The spotty pattern.
2) I like the objects. It looks like you used terrains and boolean-intersects to achieve the effects that you wanted. From my experience, Bryce handles reflecting terrains particularly horribly, and to make it look good takes real effort.
3) On the near object(s?), I wish you had toned down the diffuse rating. I think that's the issue, anyway... it makes it look washed out, like my CRT monitor has the brightness turned too far up and everything's an ugly shade of gray.
